The man killed was Jim. Jim was the security guard at work. A nicer, more kindly, gentle man you would be hard pushed to ever meet.

The article had it exactly right. SOmeone of my generation would hand over the cash, walk away, THEN call the police. It's doubtful Jim would do that. He came from a generation that didn't give in to bullies, didn't expect anyone to stick up for him, and it killed him.

If you are prepared to hold a knife to the throat of a teenager, then you will have no qualms about beating up a pensioner. All I do know is, even amongst prisons, there are some crimes that people won't accept. I think those 2 guys are in for a very rough ride, and they may have to prove that they are hard men, because some of the hard men in the prisons are going to be less than happy.

I already feel sorry for them!

Somewhere there MUST be a key to the treasure chest

I spent most of Sunday dozing and watching the Grand Prix. Terrible crash from Kovaleinen, but he seems to be a very lucky man. The rest of the day was spent doing a little shopping, teasing the cat and watching the updates on Facebook.

I am off to Lichfield early tomorrow morning and so tonight will be an early night. No poker, no annoying FB contacts and no staying up late reading.

Hopefully I will have a place to stay.

The last 3 weeks have been fun. The place I normally stay has been full. They refuse to allow you to book a room for 1 night (because they would have to change the sheets every night) so they hold out to make you book a room for 2 nights. Anyway, I have discovered a fantastic pub about 3 miles away. Nice people, nice beer (draught Peroni at £3.50 a pint) and all the food is Italian. Now, I am not an Italian fan, do't like pizza and don't like pasta. But this place doesn't do either. It's all seafood and steak. I had seabass and it was fab. Fresh, tasty, and not pizza!

I have always believed that pizza was merely a cheese and tomato sandwich with added ham. Nice enough, but would YOU pay £10 for a cheese and tomato sandwich?

Hungover

Went out on Friday night bwling with work. Had worked all day, eaten very little m abd probably should have drunk less. However, we had a good time and the buffet that the bowling place supplied was excellent.

The £20 cab ride home was a pleasant surprise as well, as I was expecting it to cost about £30.
