I have had a bit of a crap couple of years, with my Mum passing away, everything going tits up with my life, my relationships and just about everything else.

I have taken to spending about 5 nihts a week working away. I love my job and the people I work with and don’t see any reason why that should change, and I have recently met a woman who I find adorable, attractive, intelligent, funny and who I find amazing.

Anyway…..I’m back…so there!…Nah Nah Na na Nah!!!

On a train to London. Am spending the week in Hoddesdon/Ware, hopefully without any snow. Mind you, given the fact that Washington was just covered with 28 inches of snow, the 2 or 3 inches we get over here is not much to write home about.

Yesterday I boulght a Mi-Fi, which is a little device, a little like a broadband dongle, which allows you to not only connect to the internet, but also puts out its own wi-fi signal so you can connect more than one device. So I am currently connected via my laptop but also via my ipod Touch.

Hopefully this week will be slightly calmer than last weekm which was a little bit of a bugger.However, given the funny noises coming from the train engine, it looks like we might be in trouble.lol. Oh well, being stuck in the countryside when it snows, onboard a train with very little heating has always been a dream of mine.

3:00pm: Banbury, after walking down to the station, I discover that the train from Bournemouth is running late and won't arrive until 4.15. Thats fine thinks me….not a problem.

4:20:pm. train arrives, get on train, pack all stuff in racking and leave Banbury. Sit next to a psycho soldier who's only topic of conversation is how crap Army food is, oh and don't you work for those bastards 3663 who deliver all our fod and it's YOUR fault its crap. Telling him we dont do the food anymore is alas, no good.

5:20 pm. train stops outside Coventry. Minor problem saus rain manager. Train continues on way.

5:45 pm: Train stops outside Birmingham International. Guard tells everyone that train is going no furtehr and to vacate train. Everyone gets all their stuff and starts to leae train

5:45 and 30 seconds: Giard comes over on radio and says the train is going into Birmingham anyway. Everyone gets back on train

6:00 PM: Guard changes mind and train is now cancelled. Please make your way to special busus at front of station which will take you to New St.

6:05pm: makes way to front of station and gets on a bus

6:30pm make way past Solihull, and Yardley and make it to centre of Brum

6:35pm Make way to New Street Station by foot

6:45pm Discover that 6:20 Piccadilly train is running late and will arrive at 7:20…>Wait until 7:15 when Piccadlly train disappears off screens at New Street.

6:47: Decide to screw the Manchester train and get on the Edinurgh train, getting off at Crewe and getting a cab if necessary

7:30 Arrive at Crewe. Realise that Arriva Wales (bless em) have a train from Crewe to Manchester, which arrive 15 seconds later. get on and get off at Stockport.

8:15 PM get in a Taxi and head to Stabcon at the Britannia Hotel . Pay cab fare and enter hotel

8:20 PM book in at hotel get key and head upto room for a shower.

8:22 PM. Enter room, am surprised am in a twin but maybe Michelle has me sharing with someone (wouldnt be the first time) notice 2 bags….Hmmm. Notice dresses, lady slippers, lady things….Hmmm either I am sharing with a girl…..or I am in the WRONG ROOM!!!!!!!!!

8: 24pm. Point out to receptionist that, if the booking in form says room 262, giving me the room to 282 is probably not a good idea, especially as some woman may have been in a state of undress in HER room…get correct key, get shower, changed, head to bar…..buy sandwiches and beer.

8:30pm…..have now entered the weekend!
